Women’s Lacrosse

The Women’s Lacrosse team opened up their season with a reverberating win over Lycoming by a score of 15-3. This win should serve notice that the women are ready to make some noise this year in Conference play. In the Lycoming win, Brittany Baer and Brittany Lines paced the squad with three goals each. Paige Messersmith and Lisa Jurd had two goals apiece. This team has plenty of senior leadership to lean upon throughout the course of the season. Look for Brittany Baer, Erinn Hopkins, Stephanie Serbun, Emma Ardolino, Sarah Mintz and Leanne Hollinger to lead the way for the women’s lacrosse team this season.

Softball

The women’s softball team has been severely affected by the snow so far this season. Confined to indoor practices, the team has been focusing on the fundamentals and conditioning. Look for the softball team to kick off the season in Virginia for a few games before heading down to Florida during Spring Break. The Florida trip will provide the team with much needed warmth and actual games. These games should form the foundation of a successful season for the women. They hope to bring the momentum gained in Florida up north into Conference play. Seniors Lauren Toomey and Samantha Reigel will provide the leadership on a team that will rely heavily on the younger players.

Men’s Lacrosse

In the season opener, the Men’s Lacrosse team displayed a powerful offense and stifling defense as they defeated Moravian 20-3. DJ Rickels, T.J. Willoughby, and Gibbs Preston led the way with four goals each. Matt Dean was crucial in winning 16 of 24 faceoffs in the game. The men face a decisive test against #1 Salisbury on March 3. This game could be a launching point for a great season. Seniors Kyle Hadden, K.R. Schultz, Brad O’Brien, Chris Gore, Gibbs Preston, and Anthony Falgares lead the men into this season with lofty goals and expectations.
