Halloween Bingo to support Humane Society

Alpha Phi Omega (APO), McDaniel’s service fraternity, is working with the Animal Welfare Club and Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) Puppy Club to sponsor this event, which will be held on Halloween from 8-10p.m. on the Englar Dining Hall porch.

“APO chose to do this event because we try and help out as many local businesses as we can,” said Becca Wilson, the APO member organizing Halloween Bingo. “Some of the brothers also have a soft spot for animals so we thought this would be a great idea to do!”

While APO is still working on organizing the event, Wilson confirmed that there will be at least two dogs there: Hudson, the service dog of CCI Puppy Club, and her own dog. Even better, they will be in costume.

“Students are more than welcome to pet them,” said Wilson.

Participants must pay $5 to play all of the games, $3 if wearing a costume, or $1 per game if only staying for a game or two, explained Wilson. All of the proceeds will go to the Humane Society of Carroll County.

Wilson said they are currently working to get bingo prizes donated from local businesses.  By the time of publication, APO had obtained gift cards to the campus bookstore and a gift card to Ledo Pizza.

“The bingo will be a lot of fun and I hope to see everyone there! It’s going to be a great cause!” said Wilson.

APO works with many Westminster organizations, and will be participating in Relay for Life later this year. Interested in pledging? Contact grb002@mcdaniel.edu.
