The Free Press Welcomes Class of 2017

On behalf of the McDaniel Free Press, I want to welcome everyone to The Hill! Whether you are just arriving and adjusting to tolling bells every 15 minutes or coming back for another year of trekking up staircases to get to class, I hope you are ready for a big year.

As the Editor-in-Chief of the Free Press, my main goal is to expand our staff and work with a variety of students with different interests and backgrounds. We exist in a critical time for news publications, meaning that we have the power to take control of the Free Press and make it what we want.

The Free Press should be a reflection of the unique students at McDaniel; it should represent the many different skills and talents that this campus harbors. It is my personal goal to reach out to as many people as possible and share the opportunities that the Free Press has to offer.

I invite any students who have a desire to share information and become a part of a new community to attend our first meeting on Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. in Hill 111. If you want to talk about your personal goals and interests, please visit us at the involvement fair on Aug. 28 from 5-7 in the quad.

I look forward to this new year, as well as getting to know the class of 2017! Good luck everyone, and enjoy your fall semester.

Lauren Murray
Editor-in-Chief
