Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Muhlenberg

Women's soccer shut out Muhlenberg in their first conference game of the season.

The Green Terror started Saturday’s Centennial Conference opener game versus the Muhlenburg Mules on a strong foot and went on to win 5-0.

Freshman Kirsten Gibson dominated on the field and led the Green Terror with a pair of goals.

Her first goal came 16 minutes into the first half. Less than a minute later, Gibson crossed the ball to Maggie Quinn who netted it. This pair of goals set the Green Terror up 2-0 in the first half.

Twenty-two minutes into the first half Christina Wroblewski scored off a pass from teammate Nicole Hill to give the Green Terror a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the 84th minute of the game Katie Kirschenmann, scored for McDaniel by putting the ball in the left side of the net. Less than six minutes later, Gibson scored her second goal of the game, off of a 1-on-1 against goalie Tori Gonzalez.

McDaniel led the game with 26 shots compared to Muhlenburg’s 6 shots, but the Mules led the game in corner kicks with three over McDaniel’s two.

The Green Terror are now 7-0 for the season and will take on Frostburg at home on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 4:00 p.m.
