Senior Profile: Danielle Fatzinger

What is your preferred name and major(s) and minor(s)?
My name is Dani Fatzinger and I am a English major with Journalism & New Media and Writing minors.

What are some of the jobs you held at McDaniel?
I worked as a Blogger/Photographer for the Admissions Office.

What organizations were you part of at McDaniel?
I was involved with Track and Field, Cross Country, Free Press, ALD, Sigma Tau Delta, Honors Program, and Phi Beta Kappa.

Tell us more about your story at McDaniel. How much did you enjoy your time at McDaniel? Who do you think is/was your best mentor(s)? What were some of the challenges you encountered and how did you overcome them?
McDaniel is McAwesome. Upton was mentor #1 and President of the Danielle Fatzinger Fan Club. Wronski was the BEST sem advisor ever and has also been a super driving force for me. One challenge was not knowing what I wanted to do so just doing whatever I was interested in because of it. However, that led me to realizing what I really wanted and I just had to accept that it was possible: Celtic Studies. (Second thing I want to do: publishing).

What are your plans for after graduation?
Work on campus with conference services and wait to find out if I’m going to grad school in Scotland or not for either Celtic Studies, Celtic & Anglo Saxon Studies, or Publishing Studies.

What is your best memory at McDaniel? What is your worst memory at McDaniel?
Best: PERU. Duh. Worst: Nothing that isn’t personal.

What advice can you give to those not graduating?
Don’t be afraid to follow your interests even if they seem pointless. Everything that makes you happy is worth your time, and you’d be surprised what people will pay you to do.

Anything else you want to share with the world.
No.
