Over fall break, Physical Plant discovered a steam leak outside of Decker College Center’s mid-level entrance from Rouzer Hall. Though the leak is not affecting heat or other operations on campus, it does require immediate repairs.

On Monday, Oct. 14, Tom Phizacklea, vice president for administration and finance, emailed the campus community to notify everyone of the leak. This entrance to Decker Center, including access to the ATM, will be closed while repairs are being made, with completion expected by Tuesday, Oct. 22, he said.

Phizacklea’s email also reminded the campus community of a temporary entrance closure near the Center for Experience and Opportunity, as well as the permanent inaccessibility of the outside doors near the Forum through mid-August.

“Those looking to access Decker College Center can enter through Ensor Lounge, Elderdice Hall, the stairs behind Forlines to the patio, or the doors near Harlow Pool,” he said.

With the construction on Pub underway, the Pub terrace has also been closed off.

When reached for comment, both Phizacklea and Physical Plant Facilities Director Jim Coons specified that the leak was not caused by the ongoing construction on Decker.
