Have you enjoyed your time at McDaniel? If so, what did you enjoy the most?

One of the things I most enjoyed about McDaniel was getting to explore my passions. I had never even heard of seed libraries before taking Changing Food Systems my junior year and now here I am researching food security for my senior capstone and hoping to pursue a career related to food security. I also enjoyed getting to know all the different people here and meeting some of my best friends.

Who do you think was/is your best mentor?

Dr. Elly Engle

Describe your favorite memory at McDaniel.

My favorite McDaniel memory has been volunteering in the campus garden. That garden has turned into my happy/safe spot and anytime I am able to get there and work in the soil I feel lucky. Also, meeting Kathryn Dixon.

What are your plans for after graduation?

Still working on that, the plan is to work for a few years before returning to school for my Ph.D.

What would you tell yourself as a first-year student at McDaniel?

Pursue the clubs and the major/minor you’re interested in and you will find your best friends. Everything will work out how it is supposed, just breathe and let it happen.
