A compelling, introspective series regarding the debilitating nature of shyness, social anxiety, and loneliness. When surrounded by the vastness of the world, its newness and oldness, one can’t help but to turn inward. It is a photocompilation that truly reflects the overwhelming fear (of others, of change, of homesickness)that accompanies one, at home and abroad.

What drives this photo essay home is the informative captions below each image, letting the viewer know, without letting the viewer see, what great landmark/setting/tourist location surrounds the photographer. It does not matter what greatness there is; when one has such trepidation, the solution is to avoid eye contact, watch your feet, and move forward.
